Bermuda

Howdy! When you think of Bermuda, you are probably thinking about the mystery and legends surrounding these islands. Where ships and aircraft disappear mysteriously.

What you might not think of or know is Bermuda is a territory that contains 181 islands. Here you will find beautiful pink sand beaches and cerulean blue ocean waters. You will enjoy a sub-tropical climate with average temperatures ranging from 68-86 degrees Fahrenheit.

Before we get into it, be sure to check out our video on Bermuda.

Let’s dive in and discover what makes Bermuda truly unique.

Getting to Bermuda

Many people visit Bermuda by cruise. Several cruise lines sail to Bermuda April-November. But if you are looking for a longer visit, it is a quick 90 minute non-stop flight from New York City.

Once you arrive you can venture out via a rental car, scooter, bicycle, ferry and taxis. All modes of transportation are safe so you don’t need to worry about being stuck with one mode of transportation.

Where to Stay

Though it may seem small, there are plenty of options to have the perfect vacation in Bermuda. Here you will find hotels & resorts, bed and breakfasts, and even private islands with your own private villa. No matter what comfort you seek you are sure to find it here.

In Hamilton, you will find the Royal Palms Hotel. Located just 15 minutes from nearby beaches and golf course. This hotel has received the World Travel & Tourism Council Safe Travels Stamp. You will find 32 rooms within its Victorian-era manor houses. You will enjoy dinner at their award-winning restaurant, Ascots Restaurant. For a more casual experience you can dine on the garden patio. Continental breakfast is included along with all of your other typical hotel amenities.

For a more cozy stay, check out Aunt Nea’s Inn. It is a historical Bermudian guest house located in the UNESECO World Heritage Site of  St. George’s. You will find this inn includes the original woodwork and building craftmanship from the 1700’s and provides gorgeous views of the harbor and gardens.

Things to Do

You can find just about any sort of adventure you can imagine in Bermuda. Imagine exploring a shipwreck while diving, or ancient caves and subterranean lakes. If history and culture is more your vibe you can uncover Bermuda’s British colonial heritage.

For the sport lover you can go hiking and biking. Or take a swing at one of their golf courses or play tennis. The weather is perfect for all!

And for those looking for a more relaxing adventure, take advantage of one of Bermuda’s many full-service spas. Relax your mind and enjoy the sounds of the ocean during your oceanside massage, or descend into an otherworldly cave, surrounded by flickering candles and underground pools.

Dining in Bermuda

Influenced by a mix of British, Caribbean, African, Native American and Portuguese, your taste buds will enjoy a variety of cuisine in Bermuda. Locally caught seafood is always fresh, like their fish chowder. Or you can enjoy steak, curry, ribs and even pasta!

Flanagan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant is Bermuda’s only traditional pub. You will find a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Add one of their many beers from around the world with your shepherds pie or fish and chips and you will believe you are right in Ireland.

Harry’s Restaurant combines contemporary design with timeless elegance. It sits at the edge of the Waterfront Complex on Hamilton Harbor. This restaurant is named in remembrance of Harry Cox. Mr. Cox had a heavy influence on Bermuda’s culture. You can enjoy dinner on the Waterside Patio or book their private dining room. And no meal would be complete without a glass of wine from their impressive wine cellar.
