What To Know Before You Go: Face Mask Edition

Howdy! In this week’s edition of #WhatToKnowBeforeYouGo we have some guidelines on which types of masks are and are not allowed on some of the major airlines we here at Book Here, Give Here often book our clients on.

According to a recent article on the Travel and Leisure website more and more international airlines are no longer allowing cloth masks, including Finnair, Lufthansa and Air France – all of which are only allowing medical masks for both passengers and crew. The article also went to note that while most of the major US airlines still allow cloth masks – there are certain types of face masks that are a no-go. For instance – American, Delta, Southwest and Hawaiian Airlines all prohibit bandanas and scarves – among other forms of face coverings, while United Airlines – who also won’t accept bandanas as a viable face mask, also adds that a face shield alone is not enough protection and JetBlue has banned masks connected to battery-operated filters and/or tubing.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your upcoming flights that you booked through Book Here, Give Here, please reach out to your Travel Gurus.

Namaste!
