U.S. – Off the Beat & Path: SNOQUALMIE FALLS, WA

A few things are going to be useful here: a car, some directions, and a GPS/navigation app if you have one.  Snoqualmie Falls is the epitome of a “must see” attraction for those exploring Washington and the Pacific Northwest. So much so that it’s become one of the most visited tourist destinations in all of Washington. Snoqualmie Falls is something of an icon for the community on the East Side of Seattle. But if you’ve never been, it’s a little bit hard to find. To get to the viewing area, drive to exit 45A off I-90. It’s about a five minute drive up the road, and the parking lot will be on your right.

Snoqualmie Falls, WA is geographically positioned at the southern end of the North Bend Urban Growth Area and straddles the Snoqualmie River. The Park (and surrounding area for that matter) offers a variety of activities for all ages, including hiking, walking, birding, and witnessing the famous waterfall featured in the 1990 cult classic “Twin Peaks.”

Snoqualmie Falls is a popular sightseeing spot in Washington state. This waterfall is on the edge of the Snoqualmie River, which provides a beautiful backdrop for fishermen and those who are interested in looking up at the falls from below. A lot of visitors to this location hike toward the bottom of the falls and stand under the cascading water to cool off on hot days, so it’s also a popular place when the sun gets out.
