It’s #TravelNewsThursday! Venice To Require Entry Fee Starting Next Summer

Howdy! It’s #TravelNewsThursday and today we bring you news from Venice, Italy. It was recently reported that in an effort to curb the over tourism that plagued Venice prior to the pandemic, the city will require tourists to book a ticket – in advance – for entry and for a fee.

Here is the update according to Italian newspaper La Stampa:
From summer 2022, to enter the city resting on the water it will be necessary to book, pay an access fee and go through the turnstiles located at the main access points to the historic center.
According to reports the entry fee is reportedly set to be between three and ten euros which is around $3.50 to $11.75 USD depending on the time of year you visit. Residents and their family members, children under six and those staying in local hotels will be exempt from this requirement.

Sounds like the perfect time to head to Venice as they get their over tourism under control! Contact your travel gurus today and let’s curate your Venetian vacation!
