Howdy! Happy Monday! Happy August! And it’s a happy news day too because starting today, August 2nd, the UK is open back up to Americans – vaccinated Americans that is – with no quarantine required.
Here are the most up to date protocols according to the UK Government Website:
Beginning at 4:00am on Monday, August 2nd, travelers who have been fully vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccine in the United States or Europe will be able to enter the UK from an “amber” country (the US is an amber country btw) without having to quarantine. Visitors will still have to get a COVID-19 test within three days of arriving and they will need to pre-book a COVID-19 test that they will need to take by the second day of their stay once there. In addition, a passenger locator form will also need to be filled out.
It is important to note here that as of this writing these new mandates apply to England and Scotland only. Wales and Northern Ireland have not yet made an announcement on if they too will follow suit.
Big Ben, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace (and all things royal!), those iconic red phone booths and all of those charming, historical and culturally rich surrounding towns – think the Cotswolds and Stonehenge – all this and more awaits you across the pond. Give your Travel Gurus a call today and let’s explore England’s possibilities so we can curate the perfect UK adventure for you!
Namaste!
