Howdy! You might remember our story on Dude Ranches, where we focused on incredible family vacations. Today we are bringing you the luxurious Green O-an adults only Dude Ranch, nestled on the 37,000 acre Paws Up Ranch.
The Green O came about it’s name after an early rancher, Paul Greenough, decided to brand his sheep with a big green “O”. Mr. Greenough had a sense of humor.
Since then, the Green O has had many owners, including Land and Jon Lindbergh. In 1997, its new and current owner purchased the original 3,800 acres and expanded the property to a an incredible 37,000 acres! It is a working cattle and bison ranch.
Getting There
The Green O is located in a remote township called Greenough, Montana. After flying into Missoula International Airport, you have a quick 30 minute drive to the ranch. For those looking to adventure on and off the ranch, you can rent a car. However, the Green O provides complimentary transportation to and from the airport, for all those looking to stay and explore on-site.
Accommodations
You will find 12 homes nestled throughout the secluded woodscape. Each Haus offers privacy for 2-a sanctuary among the trees.
The kid in you, would love to stay in the Tree Haus. It is 23 feet in the air and has 2 stories worth of living space. The Tree Haus has 2 decks for you to relax among the trees and floor-to-ceiling windows providing you with the perfect view.
In the Round Haus you will enjoy 180-degree window views in it’s living room and bedroom. You and your partner will be nestled right in the center of the forest and gives you easy access to explore.
Or cozy up in the Green Haus where you can stargaze right from your bed through the skylight right above.
