Within the 84 miles of Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway manages to link the essence of what the state has to offer; captivating views, history, and art.
Located in the northern part of the state, the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway starts and ends in Taos. Taos is a town with hundreds of years of history, containing one of the oldest continuously inhabited structures in the entire country “Taos Pueblo.” The pueblo is ancient, adorned by Adobe structures that are stacked upon one another. The site offers insight to tourists who are interested in visiting a historical living Native American community. The indigenous people there continue to adhere to their traditional values and still reside in the village.
While one circles their way around the Sangre de Cristo mountains, the byway opens onto the town of Questa. This place is acclaimed for its renowned trout fishing, its surrounding rocky peaks, and artisans. This is a place where outdoorsy and artsy vibes meet to get the best of both worlds.
Red River, NM
North of Questa, there’s a location that stays active throughout every season. Red River fulfills a contrast of activities between the winter and summer months. During its snowy season, skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling are popular attractions. Summer moves in with a different attitude, with its Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally which brings thousands into this small town.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park, NM
