Howdy! February is the month of love and that means proposals galore! If you have the ring, but haven’t figured out exactly how to propose, don’t fret-we got you covered! There are so many unique and fun ways you can set the stage for the perfect proposal. Today, we’ll show you 6 of the most romantic proposal ideas that we love!
Memory Lane Proposal
Everyone remembers their first date. The butterflies and excitement, whats going to happen. You remember the smells, how the sky was the perfect color blue, the spaghetti never tasted so good in your life. All of these little things are etched into your mind, so why not recreate it? Take your partner to that first date spot, maybe it was dinner and a movie. Perhaps you met for coffee, or took a hike. Wherever you went and whatever you did set the scene to remind your intended how you got started in the first place.
You might be thinking this might be an obvious choice, but who cares! There is nothing more special that reliving those first moments you shared as a couple.
Go Traditional
Traditions exist for a reason-they work! Valentine’s Day is all about roses and chocolates. Why not buy their favorite box of chocolates and a dozen roses. There are many ways you can use these 2 items to make your proposal absolutely romantic.
Place the ring in one of the roses. As they go to smell how wonderful they smell, they’ll find a bit of sparkle. Drop down on one knee….and well you know the rest!
You can use the chocolates too! Place the ring in one of the chocolates, so when they open the box its sitting right there for the eye to see! If you don’t want the ring to get all sticky, you can place the ring in place of one of the chocolates. This way you get to sample one, just to make sure they taste perfectly, before you hand it over.
Skip both options and simply propose after they’ve gushed over their roses and chocolates. Nothing is more surprising than a surprise after the gift!
Go BIG!
Imagine taking a helicopter ride over the city you live and suddenly there is a sign, banner, words etched in sand (whatever you can arrange) that says “Marry Me”.
Find a restaurant, bar, or business that has digital signage. Maybe it’s their favorite restaurant, or during a sports game. Many places are more than happy to accommodate your proposal by popping the question on their big screen for you.
Taking your beloved to see their favorite local band? See if you can reach out via social media (or perhaps you even know them) and ask them to get involved. I once saw a proposal where the band talked about their story to set up the proposal. After the proposal, they played their song!
Play a Game Proposal
You might have seen some of these on Facebook or Tik Tok, but it’s a fun and creative way to pop the question. One option is Scrabble. This one will require some finagling on your part, but you can arrange it so you have the exact letters to spell ‘marry me’. Make sure you make the first move.
Pictionary, Charades, you can even play Cards Against Humanity and write your proposal on one of the blank cards. This game will then become apart of your story. One you can tell your family for generations to come. And depending on the game, you might have the perfect little reminder each and every time you play.
Throw a Surprise Proposal Party
Gather all of your family and friends and include them on your engagement. This is a great way to propose and have your engagement party all in one full swoop! Send your partner out for an incredible spa day. Tell them you want them to relax and be pampered before your date. They’ll never see it coming!
Many restaurants offer party rooms. Book a party room, have all of your guests waiting on your arrival. Or throw it at home! Whatever you do, the memories you’ve created with those you love the most surrounding you will be priceless
